Heat your oven to 350 degrees.
Dice the apples. No need to peel unless you prefer them that way. Place in a large pan with the butter, and heat over medium, until butter melts. Add the brown sugar, and stir. Heat through until sugar/butter mixture bubbles, just a few minutes. Remove from heat.
In a food processor, process the almonds until fairly fine. Add the oats, salt and cinnamon, and process for a few seconds.
Pour the oat mixture over the apple mixture, and stir well. Then pour in the maple syrup and stir together.
Pour the mixture into a pie pan, and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove from the oven, let cool slightly. Scoop into a bowl, top with your favorite vegan ice cream and enjoy!
