Seattle is filled with some of the best neighborhoods of any city I’ve ever visited. I could spend a week in Ballard and Fremont alone, from the diversity of restaurants to the shopping, to the variety of coffee shops, and the Ballard Sunday Farmers Market, you’re sure to find some great gifts and lots of vegan options to boot.

The Whale Wins – this rustically modern space with an open kitchen is in the heart of Ballard, and has an entire vegetable menu, with many options available for vegans. On my last trip here, my mom and I shared 1 salad and 2 vegetables, the plates are large, along with an assortment of delicious Smith Teas. This restaurant is beautiful, with delicious food and wonderful service. It’s perfect for a slow lunch or a romantic dinner, and has a nice patio for al fresco dining as well.

Portage Bay Cafe – a fully organic kitchen, with three locations to choose from, this place gets busy during weekend brunch so arrive early. I have only been here for breakfast but their lunch and dinner options sound great as well. I ordered the vegan hash with an assortment of fresh vegetables and hash browns, and my mom ordered the vegan pancakes. Both were good portion sizes, filling and delicious. We went to the Ballard location which was busy and cute.
